I'd like to restart with the application. I'm gonna do one interview though either with a community leader or a council member if I could get one. If not then I'll do an interview for a division leader

INTERVIEW

Interview

Here is an interview with the one and only XDC Sakura Kiss

Interview with XDC Sakura Kiss

SYN Green Arrow: Hello Sakura Kiss how are you this fine evening?

XDC Sakura Kiss: I'm not too bad, How are you doing?

SYN Green Arrow: I'm a little tired from a busy weekend but thanks for asking.
I want to thank you for helping me with this.
So where are you from and what do you do for a living?

XDC Sakura Kiss: Not a problem.. I was born in in Roseville, California but I have lived in Tucson, Arizona since I was 2 years old. As of right now I don't have much of a job..
Mainly I help my grandma out by cleaning her house a couple times a month.. I also do some freelance design work here and there.

SYN Green Arrow: Nothing like helping out your elders! So how long have you been in XG?

XDC Sakura Kiss: Well I had originally joined in July of 2010 but left about 6 months later. I officially came back June of 2011.

SYN Green Arrow: How would you describe your time in XG so far?

XDC Sakura Kiss: In the beginning it was a little rocky but after I transferred to the Xiled Design Clan, I have been happy ever since. I finally found something I enjoy doing and can help others with.

SYN Green Arrow: XG is great because it offers a variety of things and opportunities for all interests and people. So what games do you play and for what platform?

XDC Sakura Kiss: Well I play on the Xbox 360 and I'm a huge fan of any Call of Duty Game. I also really like games such as Skyrim, Fable III, Viva Pinata, & Arcade games. I enjoy a pretty wide variety of games, as you can see..lol.

SYN Green Arrow: Quite the gamer lol. What's your least favorite game?

XDC Sakura Kiss: I pretty much despise any battlefield game lol. I'm also not a huge fan of Gears of War purely for the fact its a 3rd person shooter but I do enjoy the story and playing Co-Op on it.

SYN Green Arrow: Battlefield?? C'mon lol I'm playing it right now! Alright, who, if anyone has been your biggest influence in XG?

XDC Sakura Kiss: One of my biggest influences, even though he isnt in XG anymore, would have to be Tru Kilntyme Co (Used to be XDC Kilntym XD). He definitely taught me a lot about design and also alot about running a clan and helped me learn so much about the forums. My other biggest influence would have to be XDC Reslient XD.. He has been helping me alot with different things ranging from simple stuff on the forums to things in real life such as how to handle situations and have a more calm and positive outlook of things. There are other people that influence me on a daily basis such as XGC TOMMYGUN XC and XDC Rave XS but I don't want to make this a short story on my influences, lol.

SYN Green Arrow: That really is awesome how people are influencing you and your life in such big ways! What's the toughest thing about being a general and also what is your most favorite thing about it?

XDC Sakura Kiss: The toughest thing in my opinion is making sure everyone is doing what they need to be doing. The main reason its so hard is because you don't want to seem like a jerk, constantly telling them do this, do that. I try to be lenient about things while also trying to get things done. My favorite thing about being a general is helping my members with whatever they need. Whether it be help on improving their signatures or a problem with the forums I love being there for them.

SYN Green Arrow: Seems like to me you are one high quality member. What drew you into XG and into XDC?

XDC Sakura Kiss: Well when I originally joined XGC it was because all the members seemed to be having so much fun and were also communicating which gave them a large advantage. I wanted to be part of that. I came back to XGC because I missed those things.. Communication is definitely the key to being a better player. I chose to come over to XDC because I have always loved working with computer graphics & design. I saw it as a way to improve my skills and work with people who were into the same thing as me. Our numbers may be small but we definitely come together and work hard when it is needed of us.

SYN Green Arrow: That is true you guys over at XDC don't mess around, you guys pump out sigs and stories like nothing else. Are there any tips or words of advice you would give to new or lower rank members?

XDC Sakura Kiss: Just be yourself & stay active. Participate in clan events, meetings, and the forums as much as you can. Communicate with the other members in your clan on a regular basis. This community is whatever you make it, if you want to have a good experience, then just have a positive attitude and follow the rules. Overall, have fun & enjoy yourself.

SYN Green Arrow: Once again thanks for doing this! Is there anything you'd like to add?

XDC Sakura Kiss: Not a problem, I enjoyed this interview. The only thing I'd like to say is communication really is the key to success. Just remember to communicate with your clan mates and your higher ups on a regular basis, let them know whats going on. There are a lot of very understanding people in this community and they all appreciate good communication.

SYN Green Arrow: Well thank you for your time, I really appreciate you doing this. Game on.

XDC Sakura Kiss: not a problem.. hope you got everything you need. i look forward to seeing this in your app.

My interviews are bad? I thought my interviews were really good. My articles need to improve through sentence structure, flow and spelling though, but so far I honestly think my interviews are my best.

ok well, contact me when you want. I never said a thing about your interview being bad. I was going to sit in during an interview and then see the end result. However don't bother if it's an inconvenience. I was just trying to help.

You will still get reviewed by the news team either way.

MINECRAFT

Minecraft

Minecraft was a sandbox concept game that took the pc gaming community by storm.
It's simplistic nature drew massive amounts of players, which led the Swedish developers to move from the beta and develop a full verison released on November 18th, 2011. The game looks very different from most of the popular games we see today. The land and water in the game are in cube units called "Chunks". Everything you do in the game is derived from these cubic units or chunks. In the game you literally do what the title suggests, mine land for materials and craft tools and weapons. The graphics are less detailed but the world is emmense and is generated in the game while you explore. Every players world is different and no adventure will ever be the same.

The game has 3 types of modes; survival, hardcore, and creative.

In survival you are thrown into the cubic world with a health bar and little to no items. You are tasked with developing weapons and finding a way to survive.
Hardcore mode is generally the same as survival but the worlds are more dangerous and if you die, the world is deleted which is know as "Permadeath".
In creative mode you have unlimited supplies and can fly. This mode is made for players to build anything imaginable! Projects like this one are made in the creative mode

Minecraft has had such tremendous success on the PC that it is making a platform jump to Xbox 360. The game will be Kinect enabled which will be a very interesting new dynamic. It will be very exciting to see how the xbox controller will be incorperated into the gameplay.
4JStudios (the developers of the 360 version) have been working on this for months and have certainly taken no shortcuts. They have focused on keeping the adventurous feel the same and have dedicated most of the production to doing so.

Minecraft allows you to make your own gaming experience. Everything that occurs in game is determined by you. This game knows no bounds and this is what draws the players in. The games simplicity is ironically enough what makes it so in depth and addicting.
This game will grab you and keep you at the computer for hours (trust me I know) and the 360 version looks to be no different. Mincraft is set to be released May 9, 2012 on the Xbox Live Arcade
